Addison Goes to Graceland

Most of you know that I am one of the biggest Elvis fans with two rooms in my house dedicated to the King, I would have a shrine in every room but my kids absolutely refuse to let me! So, for our 10 year anniversary, Sean surprised me with a weekend trip to Memphis! We had such a wonderful time despite the high temps. We were sweating like pigs but still managed to pay our respects to the King of Rock n Roll. Addison did a great job of non stop touring as our trip was a quick one. We toured the masion as usual, wrote on the wall and ate BBQ on Beale. We also met two amazing women from London, Tracy and Valerie. If you ladies are reading this we hope you had a safe flight home with cooler temps greeting you when you arrived! We hope you keep in touch! Enjoy our pics b/c I had a blast taking them! We love you, Elvis!!!

I even tried to scale the Graceland wall, however Andrew stopped me. He wasn't about to make the long trips to the Shelby County jail to see his mom!

Spreading Awareness

There's no better way to spread the word than by writing on Elvis' wall at Graceland!

Addison likes apples! We tried apples last friday and she was actually opening her mouth and biting on the apple.

The Biker Blood Runs Deep

Sean finally got to ride his Harley somewhere! When he got back I took the opportunity to take some pics of Addi with her daddy.

The Joys of Eating

Since Addison has a G-tube feeding has been a real concern for me and a scary one at that! Addison has a cleft palate which scares me to even think about trying to feed her. Is the food going down? Is it going up? Is it in her lungs? We were told by her doctors that just because she has a cleft palate doesn't mean she can't eat. Ok so this stresses me out. I want her to eventually enjoy our neighbors delicious fudge brownies as much as I do, but how do I go about all of this? Addison's OT and I were discussing the issue last night. We bought one of those mesh food feeders at Wal Mart and tried it this morning. Addison loves to chew on toys and enjoys sucking on a wet washcloth, like most kids do, YUK. Anyway...it worked! We put some banana in the mesh bag and away she went. She loved it. Maybe this food thing isn't so scary after all :)

Tag the Day for CdLS

I can't believe it! We raised $1000.00 for the CdLS Foundation. I couldn't have done it without the help from all the people who donated and my friends who passed on the word. To those of you who came over and spent the day with me helping, you are a blessing. Thanks Ginny, B-Ray, Ponch, Jen, Jenny on the block, and Trisha. Also thanks to Mike for coming early in the morning to help Sean move tables. All those people who came shopping at our yard sale you guys are the best. We couldn't have done this without any of you! We hope to do this again next year.
