The Best October EVER

We had such a great month. We started off by having Sean's 40th birthday party and our Annual Pumpkin Carving Party where this year we "wigged-out!" Check out those fun wigs! We had a blast spending time with our friends and family. Then we went to the pumpkin patch with my sister and her family. Despite the frigid temp that day the kids had a great time. The evening was a tad warmer as Andrew, Sean and I headed to the Haunted Hayride/Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie. That was GREAT! We will definitely do that again next year. Then the night finally came that I wait for every year, Halloween. We had a terrifically frightful night trick or treating on Main Street. Again it was a cold night and the kids had a blast! Here are some fun pics of the month!

It's been a long time!!!

Boy have we been busy! Again I can't believe that I haven't updated Addi's blog as often as I should. Austin is almost finished with his Freshman football. He did an awesome job as the Quarterback and I am so proud of him. Andrew's team came in 2nd at the Youth football tourney. He did an amazing job this year. And Addi, well, Addi has been super healthy and that is what we pray for each day. Her pulmonologist has taken her off her oxygen at night. Now that was a celebration! We are all excited about that, especially Addi!

We took a 4 day trip to the Big Apple! We went to see the Yankees and the Red Sox play. What a great trip. We ate hot dogs at Nathan's in Coney Island! YUMMY! What a great night. It was a very tiring trip but way too much fun! We hope to go back soon. The boys have found their love for the big city! I think they liked the subway the best!

So I have posted some recent pics of NYC and others...hope all of our followers and families of children with CdLS are doing great. I pray for you all daily and wish I had more time to read your blogs! Now that I have three jobs I am strung out pretty thin and hope someday to be down to one that allows me to spend MORE time with my sweet baby Addison!!!

I can't believe that it has been since August that I have posted anything! We have all started school and it has been a whirl wind of events. Austin is the quarterback of his Freshman football team and Andrew is playing football on Saturday mornings. And in the middle of all of this Addison turned 2!

What a crazy two years. When I look back at pictures and think about how far we have come with Addison and her health it truly seems like a the last two years have lasted a lifetime. There were so many struggles and deep emotions that I have never felt before. I hope that I never have to feel them again. The thought that any day Addison's health could turn for the worse has slowly drifted to the back of my mind. It is still there. I can't say that it will ever go away now. But it isn't at the forefront of my thoughts each day. Addison is doing so well that sometimes I am afraid to tell people that in fear that I will jinx it all. You can tell from the pictures that I posted that she has been SUPER great! She is doing well and lovin' life with her two brothers. Everything revolves around Addison, but why shouldn't it, right?

Well, time flies and the summer has once again passed by too quickly. I have really enjoyed my time at home this summer with Addison. School has started and I am back at work. I will not lie when I say that the tears are a-flowin'! I have missed her dearly the last few days. I have put pics up all over my classroom of her which makes it even harder :)

Austin is a freshman so that doesn't help ease my motherly anxieties. He is growing so fast and I just can't seem to keep up with the time. He is getting taller by the day! He is playing football again this year. He is the quarterback for the freshman team. When he was little he used to wish time to pass so he could be a big boy and play on the "big field." Well that time is here. I looked out onto the field the other day and I saw a young man wearing the Charger blue and orange that he just couldn't wait to wear. Where has the time gone? How do they grow so fast?

Andrew is feeling big time since he is a 5th grader and ruling the school! He is also playing football and keeping us busy with his activites. He is growing like a weed and I can't believe how big his feet are! I guess he will be tall like his dad!

I will put on some new pics as soon as I can! Addison's benefit is this weekend in Lafayette and I hope to have lots of good pics. Thanks to all of our great friends who have worked so hard to help our family! We love you guys, more than you know!

Hitting the Beach!

Once again we went to Myrtle Beach with my parents! We had so much fun. Andrew loved the beach and Addison really enjoyed the wind blowing through her hair. She got excited about riding around in the golf cart. This year was fun but different. Austin had ball games and he decided not to go with us. He stayed with a friend for the week. I missed him very much. I know he was having fun at home with his friends but I did miss his humor and smile each day. I was very happy to see him when I got home.

Addison tried watermelon and made some funny faces as the juice squirted into her mouth! We were very sad to leave and can't wait to go back over Spring Break!

Addison Goes to Graceland

Most of you know that I am one of the biggest Elvis fans with two rooms in my house dedicated to the King, I would have a shrine in every room but my kids absolutely refuse to let me! So, for our 10 year anniversary, Sean surprised me with a weekend trip to Memphis! We had such a wonderful time despite the high temps. We were sweating like pigs but still managed to pay our respects to the King of Rock n Roll. Addison did a great job of non stop touring as our trip was a quick one. We toured the masion as usual, wrote on the wall and ate BBQ on Beale. We also met two amazing women from London, Tracy and Valerie. If you ladies are reading this we hope you had a safe flight home with cooler temps greeting you when you arrived! We hope you keep in touch! Enjoy our pics b/c I had a blast taking them! We love you, Elvis!!!
